MISSISSIPPI SOUND ESTUARY PROGRAM REGIONAL LABOR INCOME PROFILE
From the economic model of the Mississippi Sound Estuary Program (MSEP) region built in IMPLAN cloud (https://implan.com/), the regional labor income profile was developed.
The MSEP region consists of 36 Mississippi counties. IMPLAN data show that the MSEP region produced about 61.5 percent of the Mississippi total nominal labor income in 2022.
The top ten industries which generated the highest labor income in 2022 are shown below.
In IMPLAN, labor income includes all forms of employment income, including employee compensation (wages, salaries, and benefits) and proprietor income.
The top 10 industries generated total nominal labor income consisting of 29.7 percent of the regional nominal labor income in 2022.
Employment and payroll of local government education sector generated the largest nominal labor income in 2022 adding 4.4 percent to nominal regional labor income.
Offices of physicians were the second top income-generating industry in 2022 adding 3.7 percent to regional nominal labor income.
The third top industry consisted of employment and payroll of state government, other services in 2022 contributing 3.4 percent to regional nominal labor income.
